ASIA: Transformation in Thailand
A Rejuvenation, Relaxation, and Renewal Luxury Retreat For Men and Women
Friday, March 17th – Thursday March 23rd 2017
Koh Samui was once a Thai fishing community, and that charming sensibility is still present today. Spending time in this lush environment is a wonderful way to soak up local spiritual culture; enjoy delicious Thai cuisine, and bask in the sun on their beautiful pristine beaches.
During this extraordinary vacation of a lifetime, each day will begin with a grounding foundation of yoga and meditation as we greet the rising of the Koh Samui Sun. We will then break and come back in to explore self-realization through transformative workshops designed to awaken and inspire. Mid day we will journey out on different adventures, discovering all that Thailand has to offer. In the late afternoons we will relax and unwind, with 2 one-hour massage treatments, included in your luxury retreat package.
Our first destination is the 5 star Luxury Panacea Retreat, which was featured in Conde Nast on the 2016 “Hot List” and was named one of Asia’s most exclusive retreats, with an unprecedented level of luxury, style, and intuitive service.
Nestled in a setting of natural breathtaking beauty, Panacea boasts panoramic views from its hilltop location, providing unparalleled sense of exclusivity and privacy.
The lavish villa’s have beautifully decorated designs, infinity pools, private gardens and landscaped grounds where guests can luxuriate in their own private lush tropical living. Hong Kong-based architect David Clarke designed the enormous outdoor pavilions with vaulted cedar-shingle ceilings and seamless sliding doors. Inside it’s all Travertine stone, teak and suar furniture, cotton and silk textiles from northern hill tribes and petrified woods.
At Panacea Retreat, guests are able to indulge themselves with fresh Thai food cooked by their very own private chef while dining Al fresco overlooking the sweeping views of the sea.
Our Four Koh Samui Excursions During Our 5 Night Stay:
Soak up some Thai sun as we cruise on a private boat to the island Ang Thong National Marine Park where Leonardo Di Caprio’s movie, The Beach, was inspired by the best selling novel. Enjoy snorkeling, lunch, and basking in the beautiful waters.
Learn from the locals how to cook authentic Thai Food during this fun Thai Food Cooking class which takes place in your private shared villa overlooking the enchanting views of the sea!
Journey into Koh Samui for a 4 hour tour to see The Big Buddha Temple, visable from several miles away, standing 40 feet tall, this temple is not only visited by tourists but also by local Buddhists on a daily basis.
Wat Plai Laem Temple which is the most colorful Buddhist temple on Samui. It’s main statue is of Guayin, the goddess of mercy and compassion. The statue has 18 arms and symbolizes her ability to reach out and provide help across the world.
The first Buddhist monks did not build monasteries. Instead, they were homeless mendicants who begged for all their food. Their only possessions were their robe and begging bowl.
Today, in many predominately Theravada countries like Thailand, monks still rely on receiving alms for most of their food. The monks leave the monasteries early in the morning. They walk single file, oldest first, carrying their alms bowls in front of them. Laypeople wait for them, sometimes kneeling, and place food, flowers or incense sticks in the bowls. Women must be careful not to touch the monks.
The monks do not speak, even to say thank you. The giving of alms is not thought of as charity.
The giving and receiving of alms creates a spiritual connection between the monastic and lay communities. Laypeople have a responsibility to support the monks physically, and the monks have a responsibility to support the community spiritually.
Our Final Excursion in Koh Samui will be a beautiful hike and visit to Nu Muang Waterfall where we can relax and swim in the pristine water. Or you can do an optional afternoon at the beach.
